Maren Morris made her way to the nation’s capitol to take part in a long-standing holiday tradition: the lighting of the National Christmas Tree.

Donning a black fur and navy blue leather jacket, Morris delivered a festive performance of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” alongside the U.S. Army Band Downrange during The National Christmas Tree Lighting on CBS, which aired Sunday evening (Dec. 5).

Co-written by Johnny Marks, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was first recorded by Brenda Lee in 1958 and has gone on to be recorded by numerous artists across all genres, including Meghan Trainor, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.

Morris documented her trip to Washington, D.C. on Instagram, and even shared photos from her tour of the White House.

Hosted by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee LL COOL J, The National Christmas Tree Lighting originally aired on CBS on Sunday, Dec. 5.

The annual holiday special was presented by the National Park Service (NPS) and National Park Foundation (NPF) and featured performances by Billy Porter, Chris Stapleton, H.E.R., Juanes, Keb’ Mo’, Kristin Chenoweth and Patti LaBelle.

The star-studded special highlighted the lighting of the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse in President’s Park in Washington, D.C. and also showcased performances by the Howard Gospel Choir.
