WATCH: Lainey Wilson Stuns With Cover Of George Strait Holiday Classic During ‘CMA Country Christmas’

Chart-topping country songstress Lainey Wilson brought her bell bottom country flavor to CMA Country Christmas with a flirty performance of the George Strait holiday classic, “Christmas Cookies.”

The Louisiana native was thrilled over the opportunity to perform on the annual holiday special for the first time ever.
“I’m excited for my family back at home in Northeast Louisiana to watch the show, to hear me,” Wilson admitted before the broadcast.

Wilson continued, “I’m singing ‘Christmas Cookies’ by George Strait, which is just a song that my family and I absolutely love, and we turn it up during Christmastime, so it’s gonna be cool for them to watch me on TV and sing one of our favorite Christmas songs.”

Wilson released a cover of “Christmas Cookies” shortly after her debut single, “Things A Man Oughta Know,” topped both the Mediabase and Billboard Country radio charts. It was a monumental moment as Wilson became the first new solo female artist to earn a No.1 since Gabby Barrett with “I Hope” in April 2020.
