Josh Turner and Randy Travis performed Travis’ hit song “Forever And Ever Amen” on Tuesday (August 11) while on The Bobby Bones Show.

Turner played his acoustic guitar while The Country Music Hall of Fame member, Travis smiled with several nods of approval throughout his performance. The most emotional part of the performance was when Travis took to the microphone to sing the final lyrics of the song.

The new duet of “Forever And Ever Amen” is from Turner’s upcoming album, Country State Of Mind, which marked Travis’ first trip into the studio to record vocals since suffering a stroke in 2013.

“Randy has always been my hero. He was the reason I wanted to become a country singer…” Turner said in a statement. “He’s an inspiring figure, not just to me but to a lot of people, so to have him sing on this record is pretty special.”

You can watch their performance below.
