Dustin Lynch brought a fan on stage to duet with him at Country Fest!
In late June, the country superstar welcomed 17-year-old fan Hailey James to the stage at Country Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin, to sing MacKenzie Porter’s verses of their chart-climbing duet “Thinking ‘Bout You.” Not only did James wow Lynch and the crowd with her impressive vocals, but also TikTok as the video had gone on to amass millions of views.
The “pinch-me moment” moment happened after Lynch asked the crowd if anyone in the crowd wanted to join him to sing the song. James’ parents and their friends were able to catch the attention of Lynch, which ultimately led to him pulling her on stage to perform the duet.
“I wasn’t paying attention, so didn’t hear him say that,” James admitted in a recent interview. “The next second I hear Dustin [Lynch] say onstage, ‘They’re all pointing at you … Do you want to sing with me?’”
Although James was nervous, once she hit the stage she was a total pro and owned the performance.
“Dustin Lynch took my hand, and I was just walking him across the stage like I literally owned that stage,” James recalled. “My parents were blown away at how I took the stage … and I did it. I remembered the words, I acted like I was supposed to be up there, and they were super proud of me.”
The 17-year-old singer first shared the clip on her Facebook page, which has gone on to amass over 1 million views. The video’s views quickly grew prompting James to create a TikTok account, where she shared the video again and it currently has over 1.3 million views.

She also shared a clip of the moment when Lynch welcomed her to the stage, which has since gone on to earn over 8.2 million views.

Additionally, James’ is a rising country singer, who lives in Minnesota, and always wanted to perform at the festival.
“I’ve always wanted to play on that stage at Country Fest,” James said, “and I finally got to sing on it.”
Lynch even seen the viral TikTok video and he commented, “Loved it!!! You crushed it!”
Restless Road also commented on the video saying, “We were there and our jaws literally dropped!! You are incredible… Stole the show!”
