Daughtry performed their latest single “Heavy Is The Crown” on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday, April 21.
During Chris Daughtry’s appearance on the popular daytime talk show, he not only performed the new single with the rest of the group but he also chatted about the meaning of the new song.
“We’re all kind of like the stars of our own movie…” Daughtry explained of the new single. “We’re the kings and queens of our own castle. There’s so much pressure just to live, especially these days.” Daughtry continued, “Not only that, but the pressures of carving your own path without conforming to what everyone else thinks is normal, and just the daily choices that we have to make. It’s a lot of pressure sometimes and I guess you can sum it up that way.”

“Heavy Is The Crown” is set to appear on Daughtry’s forthcoming new album, as well as their previously released single “World On Fire.”
The Grammy-nominated rock band is set to release their new project later this year and it will mark the groups first new album since 2018’s Cage To Rattle and Daughtry promises that now that he has “100 percent control,” this will be “hands down, the best record” he’s ever made.
