Carrie Underwood treated fans to a prank surprise on Tuesday night, ahead of the 53rd Annual CMA Awards on Jimmy Kimmel Live when she went incognito for the show’s “Undercover Sing” segment. Underwood set up hidden cameras in a Nashville boot store, waiting to surprise some customers with a serenade about their boot purchases before buying the boots for them.
Underwood sings in the tune of her smash hit song “Before He Cheats” but adding lyrics that fit the customer search for boots. First making an encounter with three ladies from Virginia singing, “Right now, we got three ladies who wanna buy some cute boots to go line dancing,” she sang over the loud speaker. “Right now, one lady has purple hair. She’s the punk rock one, gonna get some boots now.” Continuing to sing, “These girls are coming from Virginia,” Underwood then went on to surprise the fans an introduced herself to them as the fans were ecstatic about the prank surprise.
Another unsuspecting customer named John got a surprise after Underwood asked him to dance for the boots. Underwood sang, “John is holding onto his shoes, If he doesn’t get boots, he’ll have the blues. Take it from me, Carrie Underwood. If you do a dance for me, You’re gonna get those cowboy boots for free. So start moving and shake your derrière.” Continuing to tell him “Dance again and don’t you stop, In your cute blue sweater top. I promise those boots will be on me.” Underwood then appeared and gave John the boots for free.
Underwood set to host the 2019 CMA Awards tonight on ABC. Make sure you tune in at 8PM EST!
