Joined by Lambert’s band, the trio of superstars joined together for a special performance of “Midnight Rider” by The Allman Brothers Band, during the star-studded event at Ascend Amphitheater in Downtown Nashville. “Midnight Rider” is the second single from the Allman Brothers Band’s second studio album, Idlewild South (1970), which was released via Capricorn Records.
“My CMA Summer Jam performance is gonna be fun,” Lambert explained ahead of the performance. “It’s gonna be a hot sweaty mess, but it’s gonna be fun. I’m singing with two of my pals: John and T.J. Osborne and Dierks Bentley, so I get to hang out with my buddies and sing some country music and some rock and roll so what’s not to love.”
