After rumors have been swirling throughout the internet as fans began to receive a mysterious cd in the mail with the domain of which leads to a 35-second snippet of a song on the website attached to that URL by Underoath. If you swipe on the text on the webpage and *erase* it a countdown clock then appeared which ends at 4PM EST Today (Feb. 22nd). Underoath have also wiped out their social media channels, completely erasing their Facebook page and Twitter, deleting all content from Instagram and making their account profile photo a lime green blank photo.

Reddit also points out that when you dig into the source code of the website, the domain is registered to Fearless Records. To add to the excitement, random fans received a text message from the Apple ID email featuring a message that says ERASE ME and a second message featuring the same audio clip present on the website. Fans have also spotted a billboard out on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, featuring ERASE ME, along with an image of a stone angel which can be seen in today’s Underoath teasers on their Instagram stories. There has also been posters being posted around in New York City, the website link to the teaser was presented on the poster as well.

Now fans no longer have to wonder what this means or what the song teaser is about, as Underoath have officially released their Fearless Records’ label debut single “On My Teeth,” which is off of their forthcoming album titled, Erase Me. Erase Me will be released everywhere on April 6th, 2018 via Fearless Records. Preorders for the new album are available now at

“We’ve had success and we’ve come through a lot of waters,” explains drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie. “There’s been 11,000 things we’ve been through so you would think, almost rhetorically, ‘What do you need now?’ All of us are finally in that place in our lives where the only thing we care about is inclusion for everybody—for the world. For me, exclusion is the scariest thing in the world. And I think Underoath coming back now with a new record—which none of us thought was possible—we want people to know that this is your music and you can feel however the fuck you want about it. I just want to prove that we are doing everything in the most honest way we ever have. This is the healthiest we’ve ever been as a group of people, as musicians, and in our worldview.”

Gillespie’s quote touches on the narratives behind the 11-song release: addressing the dire circumstances that led to the demise of the band, the ability to, now, be true to themselves and with their listeners as well as the individual band members disenchantment with religion.

“We took a step away and then we realized that we are a family,” adds singer Spencer Chamberlain. “We do miss it and we miss each other. We made the decision to never play again as Underoath and then we let that sit a couple of years. Band members rebuilt themselves and their friendships–and then we rebuilt the band.”

Erase Me was written and recorded over the summer of 2017 with producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, 3OH!3) and mixed by Ken Andrews (Failure, Jimmy Eat World).

Erase Me is the first new Underoath music since 2010.
