The Emo’s Not Dead cruise, which sets sail on Nov. 8 from Los Angeles and ends on Nov. 12 in Ensenada, Mexico, features Dashboard Confessional, Underoath, New Found Glory, Thursday, Plain White T’s, Silverstein, Emery, Hawthorne Heights, Yellowcard’s William Ryan Key, Cassadee Pope, and more.
In addition to the aforementioned band, the cruise will also feature Your Broken Hero, marking the group’s live debut. Your Broken Hero is a group formed by YouTuber Matt Cutshall that creates parody videos paying tribute to the emo scene of music.
To celebrate the news, Cutshall shared a video on his Instagram captioned, “felt emo, might cruise…”
“”Dear Dad, I remember when you took me on that cruise years ago. We sailed into the sunset, all the way to Mexico. There was live music everywhere, beach parties and white sands, but I remember thinking where the hell were all my bands?” Cutshall said as he narrated a clip of him writing in a diary-like book.
“So late that night I went to bed, so I could finally dream of a cruise with my kind of music like Underoath and Silverstein. Dashboard Confessional was there screaming infidelities, there were spicy margaritas and even Plain White T’s. New Found Glory played all the hits, I crowd-surfed, and I danced… Hawthorne Heights and Emery, I have a tingle in my pants. But what if we can make my dream actually come true? We did,” Cutshall added before saying, “Welcome to the Emo’s Not Dead Cruise 2022.”
Pre-sale for the event starts on Jan. 27 at 8 AM, with public on-sale beginning the following day on Jan. 28.
