Twenty One Pilots are currently out treking across the world on their sold out ‘Bandito Tour’ and before their show in St. Louis, the band, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun visited Cardinal Glennon  Children’s Hospital to visit some kids battling illness who were unable to leave the hospital to attend the show later that evening. According to a report, Twenty One Pilots’ have never visited a children’s hospital before, prior to this visit to Cardinal Glennon, making the surprise visit even more special.

According to a report made by Fox2Now St. Louis, the band visited the hospital after seeing a video that two patients made asking the band to visit them before their concert in St. Louis, in the video the patients can be seen covering Twenty One Pilots’ cover of “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.”

Patient, Rachal Sancoucie, who is in the Children’s Hospital battling liver disease was pretty excited about the surprise visit from the band, she told Fox2Now St. Louis news that, “They present this melancholy feeling,” Sancoucie says. “And, you know, that’s what you feel in the hospital — It’s not horrible, but you know, it’s not nice.” It was also made known that Twenty One Pilots’ music is actually used within the hospital as therapy for their patients making this an extra special experience for everyone involved.

The band took the time to meet the kids, take photos, sign autographs, and even performed a few songs for the children in which all the kids sang along to as Joseph belted out the lyrics while he played his ukelele.

Twenty One Pilots’ drummer, Josh Dun says, “Music’s gotten me through hard times and coming and seeing what these kids battle every day and using music, you know, it makes me feel emotional.” Tyler Joseph added, “It’s a language spoken all over the world. It’s something powerful and to see it being used in an environment like this, it’s encouraging but also inspiring.”
