Thomas Rhett Reveals Parenting Advice Given To Him By Walker Hayes

When country artists aren’t writing songs or performing together, they’re often hanging out and maybe even giving each other some friendly advice. Walker Hayes, a father of six, recently gave some parenting advice to Thomas Rhett, who is a father of four.

“Walker Hayes told me one time that anything after four is just more kids,” the “Slow Down Summer” singer stated. “And I said, ‘There’s no way that that’s possible,’ but I’m starting to understand that that’s true.”

Rhett then explained that going from “two to three was definitely harder than three to four.” His almost 2-year-old daughter Lennon Love was used to being the youngest child in the family, but she has since had to learn that that is no longer the case because of her new baby sister, Lillie Carolina. This can be a concept to grasp for young kids who strive to have as much of their parent’s attention as possible.

“Lennon is still a bit jealous, and I would say that is the hardest part, is that she’s not the baby anymore,” he explained.

Not long after Rhett’s wife Lauren gave birth to Lillie, he shared a post on social media with a photo of Lennon holding her new sister. Her face says it all. “Lennon is taking this really well,” Rhett noted.

He and his wife first became parents in 2017 when they adopted their daughter, Willa Gray, from Uganda. Willa is now 6 years old, not far in age from her sister, Ada James, who is 4 years old. Luckily, these two older girls in the family are eager to help out with their younger sisters, 20-month-old Lennon Love, and the newest member, Lillie Carolina.

“You know, they beg to hold Lillie every day,” Rhett said. “I literally could put Lillie in Willa Gray’s arms and be like, ‘Are you good for five minutes?’ And she’d be like, ‘Yeah, I’m good.’ She’ll feed her a bottle. Ada James can hold her.”

Rhett also shared that it will probably be awhile before him and Lauren bring any more little ones into their home. “We’ll see what happens in the next five or six years, but we’re definitely gonna take a small break from trying to have babies right now.”

Both of these country music dads share the ups and downs of their family life with their fans, and they are always making sure to never leave their loved ones out of their lives. Hayes has become an online sensation with his dancing videos that include him and his six kids.

This viral dance craze started out earlier this year when Hayes released his song, “Fancy Like.” He and his oldest daughter Lila danced out to his catchy track together on TikTok, which quickly racked up the views. Since then, they have continued to choreograph dances to his releases including “U Gurl” and “AA,” making sure to incorporate his other kids and wife as well.

On Friday (Jan. 14), along with the release of his songs, “Church Boots” and “Angels,” Rhett announced his next album, Where We Started, will be dropping in a few months on April 1.

The record will include collaborations with Katy Perry, Riley Green, Russell Dickerson, Tyler Hubbard, and Teddy Swims.
