The Weeknd kicked off the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards with his single “Blinding Lights” on Sunday (Aug. 30).

The visually stunning performance came from a rooftop over a thousand feet in the air, lit up by a surrounding helicopter, before ending with a grand finale worthy fireworks display.

Hosted by Keke Palmer, The 2020 MTV VMAs aired on Sunday, August 30th at 8PM ET/PT broadcasted across 11 ViacomCBS brands including BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nick at Nite, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land and VH1, as well as The CW, making it available to an expanded broadcast audience for the first time.
