The Colorful Confetti filled MONUMENTOUR lit fire to The Susquehanna Bank Center!

On June 27th 2014, Fall Out Boy & Paramore with special guest New Politics brought the MONUMENTOUR to The Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden NJ. New Politics started off the night with their 8 song setlist to get the crowds blood flowing & the energy levels boosted for the headliners of the Monumentour, which they did just that. The first 3 songs I would say were the most interesting of their entire set, the band entered the stage in bright white flashes of light to break out into their song “Give Me Hope”, keeping the crowd moving going into “Berlin” with Mr. Boyd breakdancing throughout the song, to introduce the next song “Fall Into These Arms” Mr. Boyd said “Who is going to hold me in their arms & hold me up tonight Camden?!” where he then jumped off the stage & onto the barricade to get onto the crowd & literally then walked on the crowd. Mr Boyd then went back onto the stage after crowd surfing his way back up there to tell the crowd “In Life you only need good music & to follow your fucking dreams Camden we love you!” to introduce their song “Tonight You’re Perfect”. To end their set Mr. Boyd told the crowd to repeat after him by saying “Hey Hey Hey, Yeah, Yeah Yeah!” to enter into their song “Yeah Yeah Yeah” Which made the crowd go nuts! Before exiting the stage Mr. Boyd did his infamous backflip off the drum riser where the crowd roared & New Politics exited the stage. Overall the New Politics did just what they were supposed to do get the crowd rowdy for the headlining bands. Up next PARAMORE!

Going right into their next song “That’s What You Get”, Continuing their set with the next song “For a Pessimist, I’m Pretty Optimistic”. Hayley Willams then talking to the crowd saying “We always feel so at home every single time we come to Camden or Philadelphia” then going into “WELCOME TO THE MONUMENTOUR!” entering into one of their hit songs “Ignorance” continuing their set with Paramore stating “This song goes out to those of you who have seen us back at The North Star Bar & The Pontiac Grill back in 2005!” going into their song “Pressure”. Paramore had a 14 song setlist which was all of their fan favorites from old to new. The Mic stand now present in the center of the stage for Hayley’s mic, They began to play the instrumental for “Decode” where Hayley then bolted out the lyrics to the song! Paramore then says to the crowd “Can We Play a Love song here tonight Camden NJ?” with their song “The Only Exception” then flowing into the crowd as they Swayed their arms in the air lighting the room with their Cell Phones & Lighters, Ending out the song with the mic turned towards the crowd for them to finish it out. “Last Hope”, where Hayley sat down to play the keyboard as the lyrics came out straight from the heart. Next song on the setlist “Misery Business” which got the crowd going nuts, as its a oldie from Paramore but an AWESOME song! They ended this song with a duet with a girl named Lydia Sassa who joined Hayley Williams and absolutely wrecked the stage jamming with Hayley & the rest of Paramore! Flames then lighting the background along with rows of Disco balls which made the stage & crowd sparkle, introducing their song “Let The Flames Begin”. Hayley then lighting up as the spotlight turned to her as she said “I wanna say, Happy 10 years to Paramore as a band, WOW we have been a band for 10 years!” Confetti then bursting from cannons & coloring the crowd for their final song of the night “Aint It Fun” which made the crowd go insane jumping & Paramore Monumentour Balloons then bouncing all over the crowd. Then exiting the stage as it faded to black and the curtains drop for the most anticipated band of the night FALL OUT BOY!

As the white curtain dropped to the explosions & bursts of fireworks, to the quote “Let Me Tell you something you already know. The World aint all sunshine and rainbows. Its a Very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to tour knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, Me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, But it aint about how hard you hit. Its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, Thats How winning is done” by Rocky Balboa . As Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz & Joe Trohman rose from the stage & Andy Hurley climbed onto his drumset, as fire bursted up from the stage & they went right into their song “Phoenix”. Their 20 song setlist was something incredible, a song for every fan new & old, keep the crowd hot & energized throughout their entire set. Pete Wentz then screaming “MAKE SOME NOISE” to go into “This Aint a Scene Its an Arms Race”, entering into “Alone Together” with an amazing guitar solo from Joe Trohman. “Death Valley” making the crowd roar the lyrics to the song. Entering into “Sugar Were Going Down” with the bright red flashes of the strobes & the 6 televisions present on their backdrop. Pete Wentz then saying “You have to choose your own Happiness and only you can choose it and one day when you choose the happiness it might get harder but it will get better and sometimes before it gets better the darkness gets bigger” going into their song “Miss Missing You”. Up next an amazing drum off between Patrick Stump & Andy Hurley where the 2 drum sets with the 2 members present on them sliding out from under the steps of their stage set up as the fire bursted into the air with drumming instrumentals of “Drunken Love -Beyonce”, & “99 Problems – Jay z” then as the stage went black. The voice of Pete Wentz then pouring throughout the venue with a “HEY CAMDEN, How ya doing?” as the lights then illuminated Pete & Joe on a mini stage behind the crowd. “Young Volcanoes” then starting with a very short acoustic performance from Patrick & just as the beat drops the other members then reenter the stage as huge FOB beach balls bounce throughout the venue. LOLO then entering the stage to perform a duet with FOB to their song “Just One Yesterday” just as that song ended Pete Wentz then went on again talking about how much he loves Philly & that they have been in Philly for the last few days and attending a Philadelphia Phillies game last night bringing in a win for Philly! Then asking the crowd how many parents are here and don’t know this music but your kid dragged you along well you’ll know this one “Sing along to this next one you all know it” with a very amazing Queen cover to “We Are The Champions” with Patrick Stump rising up from behind the drummer on stage playing the piano. So Much energy coming from the crowd as the bright shines of sparkling disco balls illuminate the crowd. Pete then telling the crowd “If we can do it, so can you!” this next song is “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark” as fire blasted from the stage & the crowd went crazy until the song ended & the stage faded to black and the band exited leaving the crowd hot & ready for more chanting ONE MORE SONG, ONE MORE SONG illuminating the stage with the flashes of cell phones & the band then reentering the stage to say “ HEY CAMDEN we love you right now just sweeter” to introduce “Thanks For The Memories” which the crowd then went INSANE for. They then took a photo of themselves with the crowd for their Facebook & website tour photo galleries. Exiting the stage to “Saturday” while the backdrop brightly lit up saying “SAVE ROCK & ROLL , FALL OUT BOY” with a waterfall of fire sparkling down upon the stage as they exited & the venue shook from the screams & applause as we now seen Fall Out Boy & Paramore both on the Monumentour making for a memory that was last a lifetime.
