The Chainsmokers, Bazzi Heat Up The Final AC Beach Concert of Summer in Atlantic City

The Chainsmokers brought the heat to the already scorching hot Atlantic City, NJ Beach for the final AC Beach Concert of the 2018 summer season, along with special guests Bazzi and Gryffin. Performing to a packed out beach of tens of thousands of people, the exact number not known as fans that purchased tickets to Demi Lovato’s show that was unfortunately not performed, as Lovato is currently hospitalized for an apparent overdose, were allowed to attend The Chainsmokers concert as well, as a courtesy of AC Beach Concerts and Live Nation. The Chainsmokers beach concert marked the last of six concerts (P!NK, Brantley Gilbert, Sam Hunt, etc…) produced by Live Nation in what was a three-year, $6 million deal with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA).

Opening the show was multi-instrumentalist EDM artist, Gryffin, who wowed the crowd with an incredible blend of his songs mixed with other artists hits with his own spin on the tunes added in. Gryffin performing ALL of his instruments himself, including his guitar, piano, keys, etc was very impeccable to see that he can be his own one man band and still give a great performance for the near sold out beach, that you could see fans on for miles. Continuing the show was rapidly rising star, Bazzi, who recently released his debut album, Cosmic, and is currently out in support of the debut album on his first ever headlining tour which is completely sold out, so this beach concert was a great addition for fans who were not able to score tickets to his sold out headlining tour.  Highlights from Bazzi’s set would definitely include him launching his set with “Soaring,” When the entire crowd sang “Mine” back to him, his performance of “Beautiful,” “Myself,” and “Star.”

Headlining the beach concert finale show was, The Chainsmokers, in which this show was the duo’s only area appearance in 2018 as they have been busy with their Las Vegas residency, their European tour, and releasing new music that continuously tops the charts as they release hit after hit that dominates local radio charts. Launching their set at about 4:20pm, The Grammy-award winning, New York City native EDM group, comprised of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, brought their their flawless, high-energy, explosive performance which was full of fan favorite hits like “Closer,” “Paris,” “Something Just Like This (feat. Chris Martin of Coldplay),” “Don’t Let Me Down,” and of course their latest singles “Sick Boy” and “Side Effects (feat Emily Warren).” Warren actually was present at the show to lend a hand in performing their collaborative new single “Side Effects” with The Chainsmokers for an amazing performance of a song that will soon dominate the Billboard charts without a doubt in out mind.

The Chainsmokers put on a show we won’t soon be forgetting at their performance in Atlantic City, as they brought all the bells and whistles with them even for a daytime sunlight lit show, they still brought a massive lighting rig and great visuals on the video wall filling their backdrop. Even bringing out fireworks, pyro, bursts of smoke bombs, showers of sparks, and New Jersey’s own seagulls adding their own effects to the show flying around above the fans.

We look forward to see what is in store from Live Nation and AC Beach Concerts for the 2019 Summer season of AC Beach Concerts, as we are positive it will be a great lineup with lots of memories to be had.
