Taylor Swift revealed that her mother, Andrea Swift,  not only battling her Breast Cancer diagnosis but has now been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Swift revealed the new in a new interview with Variety that the doctors found a brain tumor whilst she was undergoing a second round of chemotherapy.

“The symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before, So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family,” Swift told Variety.

“For Christmas this year, I asked my mom that one of her gifts to me be her going to the doctor to get screened for any health issues, just to ease some worries of mine,” Swift wrote on Tumblr. “She agreed, and went in to get checked. There were no red flags and she felt perfectly fine, but she did it just to get me and my brother off her case about it. The results came in, and I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer.”

Swift’s mother Andrea was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

Although, Swift has not really spoken in-depth about her mother’s battle with cancer, she did speak on it in the lyrics of her song, “Soon You’ll Get Better,” featuring the Dixie Chicks. She chose to do the emotion-filled song with the Dixie Chicks as they are her mother’s favorite band and Swift has even admitted that including this song on her latest album, Lover, was a “family decision” but that she will never perform the song live.
