Taylor Swift announced Thursday (March 5) that she has made a generous donation of $1 million dollars to assist in helping those impacted by the Nashville, TN tornadoes that killed at least 24 people, left many without power, destroyed homes and businesses.

Swift wrote in an Instagram story, “Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me, I’ve made a donation to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund.”

She tweeted on Tuesday, showing her sympathy and sending her best to the victims and everyone affected by the tornado saying “My heart is with everyone in Tennessee who has been affected by the tornados.”

Her rep confirmed to the Tennessean that she did in-fact donate $1 million to the Nashville tornado relief.

Swift isn’t the only artist who generously donated to the Nashville tornado relief, as Dan+Shay donated $100,000 to the fund, Chris Young donated 50,000, along with other musicians such as Dierks Bentley and Jake Owen who are assisting in the clean up and rebuilding of Nashville. Gibson Guitars are also donating instruments to musicians who have lost their in the Tornadoes.
