Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa brought their High Road Tour to Camden, NJ at the BB&T Pavilion on August 5th, 2016 with special guests Kevin Gates, Jhene Aiko, and DJ Drama. Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifahave become a intimidating and highly successful team over the last several years; They’ve collaborated on a number of hit songs, and co-starred in 2012’s Mac & Devin Go to High School and now share a co-headlining tour in which they share the same stage and set. The rappers’ affinity was very apparent at their Camden, New Jersey stop of their Merry Jane Presents The High Road Tour at the BB&T Pavilion. When the lights dimmed and the stage filled the smoke, we were unsure if it was because they turned on fog machines or because Snoop Dogg was taking the stage with a joint in hand taking hit after hit as he launched into Dr. Dre’s hit released in 2000, “The Next Episode,” which was a great introduction for Snoop Dogg’s set. Then saying “Camden, New Jersey Who came to get high tonight?” as the crowds response instantly was loud screams as they all lit up their joints showing love. Although the BB&T Pavilion is a non-smoking, no vaping policy, it seems as though it was overlooked for Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa’s show, I mean the tour name speaks for itself, The High Road Tour, so they just expected it and allowed it for the show. After playing a few other hit songs, Wiz Khalifa hit the stage to a smoke filled BB&T Pavilion as he added to it with his joint as he launched into “Bake Sale” one of his latest hit songs off his sixth studio album, Khalifa. Then the collaboration of the tour began with Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa going back and forth with a joint in their hand at all times during their set even throwing some out to the crowd to smoke along with them. As one of them exited the stage the other came out to perform that is until about half way through their set when they hit the stage together to sing some hits and cover songs. Covering Tupac’s “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” & B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” remembering them on stage saying “Rest Easy to my niggas Tupac and Biggie.” Then the stage fading to black as they ran thru the venue to get to their secondary stage a.k.a the B stage which was located between the seated area and the lawn general admission area. The lights when on and Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa appeared on the B stage as smoke rose from the stage to the sky. The two performing the first 30 seconds of a song they perform together just as the lawn’s railing holding the fans on the lawn collapsed bringing down over a hundred fans with it, it appeared as a waterfall of people as the railing uprooted out of the cement landing on top of the venues Staff, injuring them badly and sending about 42+ people to the hospital with injuries some severe, some minor. The venue’s intercom them stating “We Will Resume The Show Shortly, Please Be Patient as We Correct A Problem.” only to soon find out the remainder of the show was rightfully cancelled due to the no longer safe venue due to the railing collapse.Overall, The High Road Tour is a tour to get out and see especially if you are a huge fan of smoking pot or just a fan of Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa as they put on an incredible show together.
