Sluka Release Music Video for “Hey Oh”

Sluka (led by Christopher Sluka) is a progressive alternative rock group that has recorded eleven studio albums with a fan base that spans across continents. If you’ve never heard of Sluka, it’s pretty insane how much music is in the world that we STILL don’t know about, right?

The band just released their music video for”Hey Oh” which is off their upcoming full-length album, Ready to Connect. Not sure if this was on purpose, but it comes out on Halloween on all platforms!

Christopher enjoyed a multinational upbringing since he was raised all around the world. A matter of fact, his family never spent more than a couple of years in one location, and this shows in the band’s musical compositions. Ready To Connect came together with the help of the most talented musicians in the music industry and with the help of Grammy Award Winner, Alan Sanderson, who produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered the entire album.

Their newest single, “Hey Oh,” Sluka brings a positive message for polarized times. With lyrics like, “Fighting off our appetites / And thankful we’re here still alive,”and “Picking up our self respect and celebrate our resurrection,” the song encourages a shedding of personal and collective trauma. It can be about anything, but most importantly, it’s about something alive and full of wonder.

“Revel in your time. Find the beauty within the horrors of your wonderful life. So raise hope, nobody ever knows,”  says Christopher Sluka. To keep it simple, “Hey Oh” is about loving life no matter what hardships you had to go through. That’s something that a lot of people need to hear, and we’re thankful that there are artists who still express such positive energy regarding mental health.

You can get tickets to the band’s CD Release Party on November 6th at the Soda Bar in San Diego right here: Eventbrite.
