Sheryl Crow says Jason Aldean’s recent anti-mask rant at his concert has been “gnawing” at her, so much so that she is speaking out.

On Thursday (Aug. 19), the “All I Wanna Do” singer spoke out about Jason Aldean’s anti-mask rant, where he praised a New York crowd saying, “you know the coolest thing about all this, the coolest thing to me right now is i’m looking out right now at all you guys and I don’t see one f*cking mask.” His brief speech about fans not wearing masks also prompted a U-S-A chant at the show.

Crow was not happy about his rant, so she took to her Instagram stories to share her upset as she admits since seeing the video, it’s been bothering her.

“I saw this the other day and it’s been gnawing at me…” Crow said in a series of Instagram stories alongside the video of Aldean’s rant. “Dude. Since when did NOT wearing a mask during a pandemic become patriotic?? We’re all tired of COVID. But shouldn’t we be encouraging everyone to do their part to stop the spread.”

Fellow country singer Cassadee Pope encouraged her followers to go see what Crow wrote via her Instagram stories saying, “this is a Sheryl Crow appreciation post. Her stories are gold today. Do yourself a favor and take a peep,” alongside emojis of eyes.

During Aldean’s rant, the “Blame It On You” singer also joked with his fans saying, “this is our first weekend back and who knows what’s going to happen next week. So, shit we might play all night tonight, I don’t know cause I don’t if they’re going to let us play next week.”

He concluded his anti-mask on stage speech exclaiming, “I’ve had just about enough of that shit.”

Aldean’s comments come as the United States faces another spike in COVID-19 cases, reportedly fueled by the Delta variant.  According to data from John Hopkins University, the United States has reported over 1.5 million new cases of the virus in the month of August so far.
