Sam Hunt & Zac Brown Band’s upcoming stadium concert set for early August has been cancelled by the event’s organizers.

According to KMOV4, the country superstars were forced to cancel their upcoming appearance at Busch Stadium in Saint Louis, Missouri, “due to unforeseen circumstances.” The news comes just two weeks after tickets went on sale.

The concert dubbed ‘Welcome Back STL’ was originally scheduled to take place on August 13 as a one-night event sponsored by Bud Light Seltzer.

Tickets purchased through Cardinals.com/WelcomeBackSTL, by phone or with a credit card at the stadium will automatically be refunded. However, tickets purchased with cash at the stadium box office must be returned in order to get a refund.

Refunds will be available at point of purchase. Organizers “regret any inconvenience this change may have caused.”

While organizers sighted “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for cancellation, Missouri is currently experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases, according to the Associated Press.

“Missouri has the nation’s fourth-worst COVID-19 diagnosis rate over the past week, with one in every 360 people diagnosed with COVID-19,” the outlet reported.

Later adding, “Just 47.5% of Missourians have initiated vaccination, nearly 10 percentage points less than the nation as a whole.”
