Hurd is known to be a fan of Swift as when she released Lover in the fall, He shared an Instagram story of himself listening to the song “False God” with the message of “Damn, I wish I wrote this.” Swift replied, sharing Hurd’s story saying “AHHH THANK YOU!!! If you ever cover it I will burst into a cloud of confetti.” I guess Swift can now burst into a cloud of confetti with the release of Hurd’s cover. See below screenshot from the repost.

The video for Hurd’s cover features unseen footage from his headlining Platonic Tour from earlier this year which was forced to be canceled due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Hurd’s latest single, “To a T” has over 68 million streams on Spotify, and he just welcomed a new baby boy in March with superstar wife Maren Morris. Hurd also released a music video for his song “Wish For The World,” which gives fans an inside look behind the scenes of his Platonic Tour.
