Production came to a sudden halt at Carlos Santana’s concert on Tuesday evening (July 5) at Pine Knob Music Theatre after the legendary guitarist collapsed onstage in the midst of his performance.

According to Billboard, Santana passed out onstage at the outdoor amphitheater in Clarkston, Michigan around 10 PM.

Billboard journalist Gary Graff shared live updates from the concert throughout the evening.

“@SantanaCarlos just collapsed onstage at @PineKnobMusic,” Graff’s first Tweet read, before revealing that crews rushed onto the stage to assist. “Being treated as I type,” he added.

Fox2 Detriot evening news anchor, Roop Raj, reposted an image from Santana’s concert, which shows medical personnel onstage coming to Santana’s aid. Raj also reported that the crowd was asked to pray for Santana “because of a serious medical issue.”

“#BREAKING: Carlos Santana just passed out on stage at ⁦@PineKnobMusic⁩. Medical personnel on stage. Crowd asked to pray for him because of a “serious medical” issue,” Raj tweeted.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, a staff member at the Pine Knob venue told the audience, “Ladies and gentlemen as you can see have a severe medical emergency. Let’s share our prayers… We need it right now… Please send your light and love to this man.”

At 10:37, Graff updated Santana fans on Twitter, revealing that “Carlos Santana taken offstage on stretcher 20 minutes after collapsing at Pine Knob Music.”

He then added that while there is “no word on condition [his] yet,” he was awake and “waved [to the crowd] while being rolled off [the stage].”

Santana was taken to a local Michigan hospital where he reportedly remains in stable condition and is doing well.

“Update; @SantanaCarlos taken to hospital after collapsing at @PineKnobMusic Waiting for more word on condition @313Presents @rockhall,” Graff Tweeted.

The 74-year-old Mexican-American guitarist and songwriter is currently in the midst of his Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour: Santana + Earth, Wind & Fire. The trek, which comes in support of his latest album, Blessings And Miracles, continues through the fall of 2022.
