Cal Jam had an unexpected surprise set from a reunited Nirvana, including Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear who seem to be making sure that Kurt Cobain’s legacy lives on. The surviving members of Nirvana reunited with special guests vocalists including Joan Jett and Deer Tick’s John McCauley for a closing performance to remember at Foo Fighters’ annual Cal Jam Festival on Saturday (Oct. 6th) at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California.
“I just wanna hear a big cheer for somebody. I wanna hear a big cheer for Kurt Cobain,” Novoselic told the crowd at the near capacity festival.
They band performed “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “In Bloom,” “All Apologies,“ “Breed,” “Scentless Apprentice,” and “Serve the Servants.” Then having The Distillers’ Brody Dalle joined them on bass for “All Apologies.”
