Niall Horan made a stop by the TODAY Show for his second TODAY Show Appearance on Thursday morning (Oct. 26th) to promote his debut solo album, Flicker. The first time being back in May 2017 to promote his single “This Town” and “Slow Hands,” both of which have become hit radio singles. Thursday (Oct. 26th), Horan performed “the big song that everyone wants to hear” “Slow Hands,” and his ballad “Too Much To Ask,” but also debuting the album’s title track “Flicker” on live TV. Horan filled the plaza up to nearly it’s capacity just as he requested fans to do on Twitter prior to the show, then following the show with a thank you tweet saying, “To be right in the middle of New York City and know that thousands have come to watch you , is an incredible feeling and it never gets old.”
All three of the tracks that Horan performed were off his highly anticipated debut album, Flicker which was released a few days ago on October 20th, 2017. After his performances, TODAY Show anchors told Niall Horan about his album set to debut at the No. 1 spot on Billboard Top 200 and Horan replied, “That’s the dream, that’s why we write music and we perform and get up on stage, things like that, That would be incredible — we’ve got a little bit of time left to see what happens, but it’s looking good. Fingers crossed.” The album (Flicker) is poised to reach No. 1 on next week’s Billboard’s Top 200 chart, and if it does (which we expect it to) climb to the top spot, Horan will become the third One Direction member who’s solo music has scored a chart-topping album. His record follows Zayn Malik’s Mind Of Mine, which was released back in 2016, and Harry Styles’ self-titled debut released back on May 12th, 2017.
As we previously reported, Niall Horan will be launching his ‘Flicker Sessions Tour‘ in Philadelphia on Sunday, October 29th, 2017 at The Fillmore, following with a 2018 world tour with Maren Morris in Amphitheaters throughout the summer and fall of 2018.
