Dedicated fans lined the sidewalks of 48th and 49th streets in the rain, some for days and many many hours for a chance to see the One Direction singer, Niall Horan return to NBC’s the Today Show on Monday for his second appearance on the show, but this time it was for the Citi Concert Series. His first appearance on the Today Show being back on October 28th, 2016 to perform “This Town” on tv. He took to the Citi Concert Series Stage just three weeks after his One Direction bandmate, Harry Styles did the same, and performed three songs during his set on the Today Show. He performed: “Slow Hands“, “On The Loose” and before performing his debut single, “This Town” he took a moment to remember the people affected by the Manchester attacks on May 22nd by dedicating this performance to them by saying, “Before I start, I would like to dedicate it to the people who lost their lives in Manchester last week. It was a very sad thing, so I just, it’s the least I can do is dedicate this song.” Completing his set with a massive One Direction “Best Song Ever“ sing-a-long, where he strummed the guitar and the fans serenaded him by singing the entire song, it sounded as if we were at a One Direction Stadium show, it was so loud.
The rain didn’t damper the fans enthusiasm, the energy from the crowd was electric. The crowd gave Niall Horan their all; screaming, dancing, singing along, and chanting his names several times. Many of military members present in the crowd as well, celebrating Fleet week in New York City, not to mention it was only right to give them a great show from Horan being that it was Memorial Day. It appeared Niall Horan was not only very thankful for the fans who slept outside and waited days to see him, but also seemed as if he was very surprised this many fans showed up to support his solo material. Niall Horan’s three hit singles (“This Town,” “Slow Hands,” and “On The Loose“) has fans craving his full length album, and Horan did tease that he may have some new music and an upcoming tour in the works for later in the fall.
