Musicians Star in 2022 Super Bowl LVI Commercials: Lizzo, Kenny G, Megan Thee Stallion, Dolly Parton & More

Every year, the Super Bowl always brings out the best from the worlds of football, music and advertising/marketing. The national anthem, the halftime show, and even the highly anticipated ads during the championship football game all have star power for fans to enjoy. Super Bowl LVI will feature a face-off between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams, who will have home-field advantage at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles California.

To start the festivities, country singer Mickey Guyton will perform the revered National Anthem. Guyton will join a list of country icons who have performed the anthem at previous Super Bowl games, including Faith Hill, Charley Pride, The Chicks, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Eric Church.

This 2022 Super Bowl Pepsi halftime show will feature superstars Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Combined, the five artists combined have 43 GRAMMY awards and have created 22 No. 1 Billboard albums.

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” Dr. Dre said in a statement. “I’m grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”

The star power doesn’t end with the Halftime Show; a plethora of music stars are making appearances in the highly anticipated Super Bowl LVI commercials.

Zendaya

Superstar Zendaya stars as Sally, a seaside entrepreneur selling seashells, in this SquareSpace ad. 

 

Shania Twain

Actors Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen reflect on golden memories in this Lay’s ad. One of the flashbacks includes the pair driving on a road trip, singing along to Shania Twain’s hit song “You’re Still the One” while eating a bag of Lay’s potato chips.

 

Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart 

Longtime friends Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart team up in this ad for BIC EZ Reach lighters, showing the surprising ways they use the tools. 

 

Ice-T

In this spot for Honey Nut Cheerios, Ice-T leads a team of speed walkers, the Speedy T’s.

 

Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth finds mysterious orange paw prints in his trailer, leading to open bags of Flamin’ Hot Doritos and Cheetos.

 

Megan Thee Stallion

Doritos continues its star power in this Flamin’ Hot ad featuring Megan Thee Stallion, where she is locked out of her trailer by a sloth-like creature.

 

Doja Cat

Doja Cat appears in this Taco Bell ad as a student skipping out on clown school, while “Celebrity Skin” plays in the background.

 

Will Smith

In an ad for the new television series, Bel-Air, Will Smith performs the original theme song for “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alongside a variety of musicians from different backgrounds.

 

Lizzo

Lizzo appears in this poignant ad for Google Pixel 6 featuring Real Tone image technology, teasing her new single playing in the background.  “Cause if you love me, you love all of me. Everything the light touches. Oh, baby give me light touches. Oh, yes. Look me in my eyes. Takes over my mind. Don’t you be afraid. No, no, no, no, no. And if you love me, you love all of me. Or none of me at all.”

 

Kenny G

You may not think of Kenny G when you think of Busch Light, but in this beer ad, the artist appears as the one of the voices of the mountains. 

 

Lindsay Lohan

In a star-packed ad for Planet Fitness, Lindsay Lohan is the leading lady of her revamped life. Narrator William Shatner and fellow celebrity on-looker Dennis Rodman wonder what her secret is.

 

DJ Khaled

DJ Khaled appears in this Intuit QuickBooks and Mailchimp ad with a variety of comical duets of his song “All I Do Is Win.”

 

Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus

Country icon Dolly Parton and her goddaughter, pop superstar, Miley Cyrus star in this T-Mobile ad, where Miley asks, “What would Dolly do?”

Dolly Parton tells a sad tale of trapped phones, pulling one out of her bra, encouraging viewers to switch to T-Mobile, so phones can “shine their brightest,” adding, “Do it for the phones.”

 

Willie Nelson

Dubbed as an activist and comfort expert, Willie Nelson stars in this Sketchers’ ad. “I’ve fought for the one thing that can bring comfort to millions,” Nelson shares.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron stars as two different fishermen in this ad for AT&T Fiber, each man showing off increasingly larger catches.

Super Bowl LVI, hosted at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, will feature the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals and will kick off Sunday (Feb. 13) at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on NBC.
