Miranda Lambert debuted the acoustic version of her song “Bluebird” on Friday (June 12). The original song is the second radio single from Lambert‘s latest album, Wildcard.
Lambert sings in the chorus:
“And if the house just keeps on winning
I got a wildcard up my sleeve
And if love keeps giving me lemons
I’ll just mix ’em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stops singing
And all the stars go dark
I’ll keep a light on in my soul
Keep a bluebird in my heart”

“Bluebird” was co-written by Lambert alongside Natalie Hemby and Luke Dick.
“I love ‘Bluebird.’ It’s a song like I’ve never written before and I’m so proud to be a part of it,” the superstar shared in a statement. “Since I wrote it, I’ve been seeing bluebirds everywhere. The bluebirds had always been there – I live on a farm – but I never saw them like I see them now. It reminds me to open my eyes to what’s around me. Now, seeing a bluebird sitting on a branch means so much more to me. I see a little piece of hope there, sitting with wings, and it’s a reminder. I think this is one of those songs where every person takes what they need to from it.”
Lambert has given several acoustic performances of the song including on ACM Presents: Our Country, CMT Celebrates Our Heroes and more, which fans adored and that prompted her to release song acoustically.
