Miley Cyrus covered Dolly Parton during a moving Mother’s Day tribute during her appearance on Saturday Night Live.

On Saturday, May 8, the superstar performed Parton’s “Light Of A Clear Blue Morning,” a track from Parton’s 1977 album, New Harvest… First Gathering. The country icon later re-recorded the song to include in her 1992 film, Straight Talk, of which she changed up the lyrics a bit on verse two. A third recorded of the track appeared on Parton’s 2003 spiritual album, For God And Country.

During the performance, clips of the ‘SNL‘ cast appeared with each of them side-by-side with their mothers in honor of Mother’s Day.

Cyrus concluded her performance by wishing her Godmother, Parton, a Happy Mother’s Day as well as her own mother, Tish Cyrus, who appeared at her side during the segment.

“Happy Mother’s Day to my Godmother Dolly Parton and to my Mom Tish,” Cyrus exclaimed.

You can watch her Mother’s Day tribute below.

Later in the show, Cyrus performed her chart-topping hit “Plastic Hearts” in a shimmering, fringe dress, which you can see below.

The singer also performed her new collaborative remix of “Without Out” alongside The Kid LAROI.

Hosted by Elon Musk, Saturday Night Live aired on Saturday, May 8.
