The soul-stirring lyrics of Michael Ray‘s upcoming single “Her World or Mine” just became that much more heart-wrenching thanks to a brand-new acoustic version of the song released today. The acoustic performance video of “Her World or Mine” can be found HERE.

The follow-up to Ray’s third number one hit “One That Got Away,” “Her World or Mine” tells the emotional story of a breakup from both points of view, and digs deep into the painful feelings that result. The acoustic version, which features Ray pouring his emotions into a sole microphone, features only piano accompaniment.

Serving as the third single off of Ray’s sophomore album Amos, “Her World or Mine” will be released to country radio on Monday (May 20). Recently, Ray sat down with People.com to talk about the rawness of the song, and just why it has him being more honest than ever before.

“‘Her World or Mine’ is not a reflection of where I am today, but it’s the exact reflection of where I was a few years ago,” he tells the magazine about the song that was written by Brett Beavers, Jamie Paulin and Travis Denning. “I can deliver this song now in a hopeful way because I did live it, and I came out on the other side.”

Indeed, the sheer honesty of the song has already made it a crowd-favorite as part of Ray’s current Nineteen Tour, which includes stops this summer at festivals such as Tortuga Music Festival, Stagecoach and Country Thunder. Michael will also join Brantley Gilbert on his 2019 tour Not Like Us starting in June and Old Dominion on their Make It Sweet Tour this fall.
