Michael Ray and Carly Pearce have officially tied the knot at their whimsical wedding in Nashville, TN at a farm. The couple knew they were going to get married from the day they met and know they are husband and wife.
The wedding took place at Drakewood Farm in Nashville, TN in front of about 100 of their closest family and friends, PEOPLE confirms. The farm is located on 40 acres of land and the venue features a mansion, three barns and a pavilion and that was just the vibe that Pearce said she was looking for prior to the wedding telling PEOPLE that she wanted something “Earthy and whimsical and romantic and elements of country.”
Although the couple did want an outdoor wedding, mother nature had other plans for the couple as they were forced to exchange vows in one of the farms barns due to the rainstorms in the area throughout the weekend. The couples vows were written themselves during the emotion-filled ceremony which was officiated by Grand Ole Opry’s own, Bill Cody. They chose Cody as they think it reflects their passion for the Opry and music in general. “It just feels special,” said Pearce to PEOPLE, “because it’s kind of all-encompassing of country music and the Opry and our story. And his voice is just so sweet.”
Pearce and Ray shared their first dance to Jake Owen serenading them with “Made For You,” which is a song from Owen’s latest album. Michael Ray ask Owen to do this months ago, Ray told PEOPLE, “I told him the date, and he immediately went to his calendar, and was like, ‘I’m in. I would love to. I’ve never been a wedding singer before.’ So it all worked.”
Ray and Pearce didn’t waste any time in tying the knot as they just got engaged about a year ago in December of 2018 during their Christmas vacation to Mexico. It is said that the couple is putting their honeymoon on hold as they have other commitments to do first within their careers but it is said that come December, they will be heading out to Sandals Resort in Jamaica.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
