Metallica just announced 2018-2019 tour dates in support of their latest studio album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, released in November of 2016. The tour was announced today (Feb. 26), this leg of Metallica’s WorldWired Tour features 34 shows, beginning Sept. 2nd in Madison, Wisconsin, and wrapping up on March 13th of 2019 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
During that tour the band will hit North Dakota for the first time in 30 years and South Dakota for the first time in 25 years. Also included are more traditional markets such as Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Vegas, and Nashville.
The general public can begin purchasing tickets this Friday (March 2nd), following tomorrow’s pre-sales for fan club members and Citi card holders and a Spotify pre-sale Feb. 28th. Each ticket purchase will be accompanied by a physical or digital copy of Hardwired… to Self-Destruct.
Comedian Jim Breuer will host a “Light It Up” pre-show party at every show. “Jim, along with a DJ to get the night rocking with some great tunes, hits the stage before the band with comedy, fan interaction, giveaways and much more,” the band said. Check out the tour announcement below.
