The Knot and Spotify, leaders in weddings and music, teamed up to launch released “Weddings Songs by The Knot” on Spotify, serving up musical inspiration for couples across the globe—just in time for Valentine’s Day!
In tandem with the launch of “Wedding Songs by The Knot” on Spotify, these two powerhouse brands teamed up with global superstar Meghan Trainor to include her full, six song EP The Love Train on the playlist, along with insider commentary from Trainor sharing about her inspiration for her new music (spoiler: it had a lot to do with her husband!) She shares:
“I wrote ‘Marry Me’ when I was on tour, and I was dating Daryl…it was our one month anniversary. On our one month anniversary, I was still nervous to write songs in front of him but I went into the other room with my ukulele and I wrote a love song for him, and it ended up being [Marry Me], saying please marry me. It’s a bit aggressive after one month, but he loved it and it ended up being our wedding song when I walked down the aisle.”
“I wrote ‘I’m Down’ because in the beginning of dating Daryl we both fell for each other right away. And instead of saying ‘I love you’ because it was very early and we were both scared to scare the other person, we would say ‘I’m down’”
“I’m so excited to be teaming up with The Knot and Spotify to spread the love this Valentine’s. Everybody deserves love, so I hope these songs inspire you all to dance, sing, smile and maybe even shed a tear.”
Also included on the playlist are the Top 10 Most Popular First Dance Songs, as determined by The Knot 2018 Real Weddings Study:
