Mechanics Wanted delivered a fiery metal cover of All Time Low and Blackbear’s chart-topping hit “Monsters.”
Comprised by Nashville based musicians, who’ve met playing in Morgan Wallen’s band, Mechanic Wanted wanted to showcase their rock roots within this project. The band previously shared covers of Morgan Wallen and Diplo’s “Heartless” as well as Ariana Grande’s “Positions” featuring Ashland Craft. And now they have debuted rowdy metal cover of All Time Low and Blackbear’s smash hit.
“When trying to pick our next song, we’re looking for records that we can take and put our own spin and flavor on to make it special to Mechanics Wanted,” Luke Rice explained. “We want to put out great covers, that don’t just look and sound good but pay respect back to the original artist/band and songwriters.”

The band chose to cover “Monsters” as they are big fans of the track and the bands who recorded it.
“All Time Low does the pop punk style so well, and Blackbear is such a talented artist, that it gave us a great platform to put our own spin on it and we hope that we did them well with this cover,” Rice added.
When it came to choosing who they wanted for guest vocals, to do Blackbear’s verse, they knew immediately that Big Loud artist Ernest would be perfect for the job!
“The guys and I knew we couldn’t just get anyone in Nashville to do Blackbear’s verse. Which made the decision to ask our friend Ernest to come be apart of this with us a no brainer. He was able to really elevate this cover to something special that we couldn’t have done on our own. That’s honestly the beauty of being apart of the Nashville community; having so many talented people from all walks of life right here, in Music City. At the end of the day that’s what we want our project to help show case; how diverse and talented the artists, songwriters and Nashville community are!”
Mechanics Wanted includes Wallen’s bandmate’s Mark Taco Annino (Drums), Luke Cowboy Rice (Bass/Guitar), Tyler Tomlinson (Guitar) and Dominic Frost (Guitar/Vocals). Taco, Luke and Dom first met back in 2015 when joining Wallen’s band. Then, Tyler joined the group in 2018 and in 2020 they decided to get creative and form a metal band during their downtime off the road. The band’s name comes as a play off the Morgan Wallen MW acronym, and the Mechanics part of their name stems from their onstage uniforms that they wear while performing with Wallen.
