Bay City, Michigan native, Matt Ferranti just released the music video for his post-break up anthem “Pick Up” on Thursday (August 20).
In the song, Ferranti details the situation in the video that is often thought of after a breakup, more specifically the one where you are hoping that your ex-significant other is being affected by seeing your name come up on their phone, as you hope to reunite with your past lover.
“People often get caught up in hypothetical situations that come with separation or a breakup,” Ferranti explained about the song. “You take on the perspective of hoping that the other person is affected by seeing your name pop up on their phone. Every hopeless romantic still in love has felt this. “Pick Up” is about the pressure of the inner ‘Tug of War’ going on while clinging to the hope of potential reconnection.”

Ferranti’s explosive vocals blend perfectly with the electrifying guitar riffs and pounding drums throughout the song. The track is guaranteed to have you singing and dancing along after just one listen which will turn into leaving the tune on repeat as you just won’t be able to get enough of its anthemic sound.
“Pick Up” was co-written by Ferranti alongside Ty Graham, Rufio Hooks, Scotty Cram and Joey Diehl.
If you didn’t already know, Ferranti is a member of Brett Young’s band, where he plays several instruments and sings on backing vocals. And since the novel coronavirus pandemic, Ferranti’s tour supporting Brett Young has been postponed as well as Young’s tour supporting Jason Aldean. This forced the year of what was originally scheduled to take place on the road, touring, to come to a screeching halt, like many musicians. So, Ferranti has been spending his time writing new music, in which he plans to release a new song every 50-days with the first being the aforementioned track “Pick Up.”
