The Best Bad Influence owner took to social media on Friday (Nov. 18) with a video update after leaving her bed and getting out of the house for the first time since going under the knife.
“Getting out of the house,” the mother of two wrote in her Instagram stories alongside a boomerang of herself in a wheelchair.
She later shared a video detailing the reason for her surgery. While rolling in the wheelchair outside the home she shares with Bryan, Caroline went on to share an update with her 1.1 million followers.
“Finally getting out after a long week and these days I’m not walking and I am rolling in this, but I wanted to give an explanation,” she said. “I know I said unexpected surgery. It wasn’t unexpected, I just wasn’t ready to accept it. I’ve known for a month I had to have it, so there’s no emergency, no fall, no car wreck.”
She then detailed the ailments that led to the surgery.
“I had a torn labrum, hip dysplasia and a lot of arthritis and so it had gotten so bad that we just had to fix it. So, that’s it, but I will do whatever they tell me to do to get better and get back out cause this whole not being able to move thing is not for me. But anyway, that’s it.”
Caroline first shared the news of her surgery earlier this week alongside a photo of herself in a hospital bed at The Bone And Joint Institute of Tennessee.
“Well…unexpected hip surgery…but I got the best care and surrounded by the most selfless friends ever,” she captioned the post.
At the time, the country singer’s wife didn’t share any details of what happened or why she had to have a sudden hip surgery.
Her medical procedure came just days after she joined Luke Bryan on the red carpet at the 56th Annual CMA Awards, where Bryan served as a co-host of the alongside NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.
The beloved country couple were all smiles as they walked the red carpet. Bryan wore a classic black suit with a bow tie, while Caroline opted for a leopard print dress with a halter-neck and keyhole detail and added some sparkle to her look with a silver studded belt.
In addition to co-hosting the show, Bryan also performed his latest single, “Country On.”
Caroline and Luke Bryan have been married for over 15 years and share two children together, Thomas (Bo) Boyer Bryan and Tatum (Tate) Christopher Bryan. They also adopted three of their nieces and nephews, Jordan Cheshire, Kris Cheshire, Tilden (Til) Cheshire, after a family tragedy.
