Dolly Parton brightened our Christmas spirits early with the release of her heartfelt version of “Mary, Did You Know?” on Friday (Aug. 21).

“Mary, Did You Know?” is the first instant-grat track from her much-anticipated holiday album, Holly Dolly Christmas.

The country icon says that this song is near and dear to her as she loves the message behind the track.

“I got very emotional recording “Mary, Did You Know?” It’s the sweetest song about beautiful things being born out of unexpected situations and that’s a message we all need to hear now more than ever,” Parton explained.

Holly Dolly Christmas marks Parton’s first holiday album in 30 years. The album will feature a star-studded lineup of collaborations including Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Willie Nelson, Michael Bublé, Jimmy Fallon and her brother Randy Parton and her niece Heidi Parton.

The Kent Wells-produced 12-track album will be released on Oct. 2 via Butterfly Records in partnership with 12Tone Music Group. You can preorder it now, HERE.
