Dolly Parton brightened our Christmas spirits early with the release of her heartfelt version of “Mary, Did You Know?” on Friday (Aug. 21).

“Mary, Did You Know?” is the first instant-grat track from her much-anticipated holiday album, Holly Dolly Christmas.

The country icon says that this song is near and dear to her as she loves the message behind the track.

“I got very emotional recording “Mary, Did You Know?” It’s the sweetest song about beautiful things being born out of unexpected situations and that’s a message we all need to hear now more than ever,” Parton explained.
