On Wednesday, May 12, the American Idol contestant and rising star shared a teaser clip to an emotion-filled track about his life that he is gearing up to release in just a few days on Friday, May 14. Pre-save the song HERE.
Produced by Ross Copperman at SoundFactory Recording Studio in Hollywood, California, the self-penned track is a very personal song to Beckham as he sings about his life story and his past struggles with alcohol.
Throughout the autobiographical song he references real life experiences from his past that are true stories.
“Now i’m 23 / and there ain’t nobody who can drink like me / Soon I’ll be 24 / And the Lord knows that I can’t drink no more / I know I should’ve taken it slow / It’s not the way that my life goes / Now I know / When your pass out on the floor,” Beckham sings in the teaser clip on Instagram.

Additionally, Beckham recently showcased his songwriting abilities with a self-penned track dubbed “Mamma,” a song dedicated to his mom Windie, which he performed on Sunday, May 9, during the Mother’s Day dedication episode.
According to Idol host Ryan Seacrest, Beckham wrote the song during Hollywood week as an ode to his mom.
The track was so good and well written that it earned praise from Idol judge and Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Lionel Richie. Richie gushed “you have me crying on your song – as a songwriter, i’m going to tell you, put that song out now.” He later added, “that’s a smash record. That was performed perfectly and you had us from the beginning of it. The chords, the words, everything man. Congratulations.”
