Lauren Alaina Forced To Exit ‘Beyond The Edge’ After Sustaining An Injury

Lauren Alaina will no longer be appearing on CBS’ Beyond The Edge after she sustained a foot injury that forced her to depart from the competition.

Despite “crushing it” on Beyond The Edge, the Georgia native and country superstar was “disqualified” and was forced to exit the show after she sustained an injury during one of the show’s adventures.

“I got disqualified, because I fell and hurt my foot,” Alaina recently told Entertainment Tonight.

The “Getting Over Him” singer got disqualified from the show after Wednesday (April 13) night’s episode. During the episode, Alaina’s team, known as the Red Team, lost to the Blue Team led by actor Jodie Sweetin, at the time of her departure she had raised the most money for her charity. Alaina suffered a painful injury during the episode when she tripped and fell, and after taking her shoe off she realized she couldn’t move her toes and needed to see a medic.

After seeing a medic, Alaina received X-Rays on her foot, which revealed she had torn a ligament, which ultimately led the Doctors to remove her from the game and to depart from the Panama jungle out of health and safety precautions.

“I begged them to let me stay,” Alaina also told ET, “But actually, looking back, my foot was not well for a very long time. So it was the right call.”

Alaina also joked that her competitors on the show “should be glad” she had to leave as she said, “I was gonna win. I was undefeated when I got hurt. I was crushing it.”

While Alaina is heartbroken to exit the show, she is happy to finally be able to sleep in her own bed again.

“It’s all for charity, it’s all for fun. I was really sad to be leaving them,” Alaina added. “I was very happy to be getting a bed back, but [there] was true, genuine real connection.”

Beyond The Edge Airs Every Wednesday

Beyond The Edge is a new series that features nine celebrities “trading in their worlds of luxury to live in the dangerous jungles of Panama, where they face off in epic adventures and endure the most brutal conditions, as they push themselves to go far beyond their comfort zone.”

Fellow country star Craig Morgan, Super Bowl MVP Ray Lewis, NBA champion Metta World Peace, supermodel Paulina Porizkova, NFL legend Mike Singletary, actress Jodie Sweetin (“Full House,” “Fuller House”) and television personalities Colton Underwood (“The Bachelor”) and Eboni K. Williams (“The Real Housewives of New York City”) also joined Alaina in the Panama jungle.

From the producers of the popular TV series, Naked And Afraid, Beyond The Edge has been called “most intense celebrity adventure ever attempted.” The nine celebrities traveled to Bocas Del Toro, Panama, in September and October and for two weeks, the celebrities were forced to “withstand torrential downpours, scorching heat and deadly wildlife while living in the exotic Panama jungle.”

Hosted by Showtime Sports announcer Mauro Ranallo, Beyond The Edge airs every Wednesday on CBS and streams live and on-demand via Paramount+.
