Lauren Alaina will no longer be appearing on CBS’ Beyond The Edge after she sustained a foot injury that forced her to depart from the competition.
Despite “crushing it” on Beyond The Edge, the Georgia native and country superstar was “disqualified” and was forced to exit the show after she sustained an injury during one of the show’s adventures.
“I got disqualified, because I fell and hurt my foot,” Alaina recently told Entertainment Tonight.
The “Getting Over Him” singer got disqualified from the show after Wednesday (April 13) night’s episode. During the episode, Alaina’s team, known as the Red Team, lost to the Blue Team led by actor Jodie Sweetin, at the time of her departure she had raised the most money for her charity. Alaina suffered a painful injury during the episode when she tripped and fell, and after taking her shoe off she realized she couldn’t move her toes and needed to see a medic.
After seeing a medic, Alaina received X-Rays on her foot, which revealed she had torn a ligament, which ultimately led the Doctors to remove her from the game and to depart from the Panama jungle out of health and safety precautions.
“I begged them to let me stay,” Alaina also told ET, “But actually, looking back, my foot was not well for a very long time. So it was the right call.”
Alaina also joked that her competitors on the show “should be glad” she had to leave as she said, “I was gonna win. I was undefeated when I got hurt. I was crushing it.”
While Alaina is heartbroken to exit the show, she is happy to finally be able to sleep in her own bed again.
“It’s all for charity, it’s all for fun. I was really sad to be leaving them,” Alaina added. “I was very happy to be getting a bed back, but [there] was true, genuine real connection.”
