Kelsea Ballerini paid tribute to Taylor Swift on the road with a special performance of a popular Swift hit.
The pop country superstar kicked off her direct support slot on the ‘Remember This’ tour with the Jonas Brothers on Friday (Aug. 20) in Las Vegas, NV at Park Theater at Park MGM.
During her lengthy set, Ballerini took a moment to pay tribute to some of her female heroes, notably including her longtime friend and idol, Taylor Swift.
“There was one particular woman, well, there is one particular woman who paved the way for people like me,” Ballerini said. “And she sings songs that sound like…”
The arena then erupted into a massive sing-a-long as Ballerini began singing a cover of Swift’s “Teardrops On My Guitar” on acoustic guitar.
Watch the aforementioned performance below.

Ballerini has credited Swift throughout the years for being a big influence on her as an artist and even notes that she is partially the reason that she got into music.
“I grew up loving music, but I never knew that you could just choose to be a singer like that. I was from a small town in Knoxville so you grow up to be a vet or something that you see other people doing around you,” Ballerini previously shared in an interview. “And until I saw a girl named Taylor move to Nashville, I didn’t know that I could do that.”
The Tennessee native also told Billboard that Swift has always given her good advice and been a mentor for her throughout her career.
“[Taylor]’s just really good at being yourself, That’s always been her advice — go with your gut, go with your heart, follow that and not anything else,” Ballerini previously shared. “She’s amazing and she’s supportive. We’re obviously in different genres now, but we’re both songwriters at heart and root each other on.”
The singer has even previously joined Swift on stage during Swift’s 1989 World Tour to sing a duet of Ballerini’s hit “Love Me Like You Mean It.”
Additionally, the Jonas Brothers’ tour with Ballerini as support continues through October 27, see the full list of remaining tour dates below.
