Kelsea Ballerini was surprised with an invite to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Little Big Town. The surprise came when Little Big Town invited Ballerini onstage to perform “Girl Crush” with them in front of the Grand Ole Opry crowd. Ending the song by serenading Ballerini, perfectly harmonizing the invite offer, “Do you want to join the Opry?”
Ballerini became emotional almost immediately onstage, tearing up before accepting the offer. Ballerini told the crowd, “To be on this stage is the greatest gift in the world, This is the home of country music, and I get to be a part of it.” Ballerini will become the youngest member of the Opry at 25 years old. The Opry currently has 66 members and has had over 200 acts since the Opry began in 1925.
Ballerini is set to be inducted into the Opry on April 16th at 7PM.
