Kelsea Ballerini gave her song emotion-filled song “homecoming queen?” it’s moment on the 2019 CMA Awards tonight (Nov. 13), with just her and her guitar which as she said ahead of the awards show is just how she wrote it.
Different from last year’s CMA Awards when Ballerini performed “Miss Me More” with 16 dancers and a whole choreographed dance routine and a big production, this year stripping it down for a more laid back performance of “homecoming queen?,” taking it back to how she wrote it.
Ballerini told us ahead of the performance that, “this song is definitley the most vulnerable song that I have gotten to put out as a single, were gonna just kind of highlight the lyric, it’s just me and my guitar which is how we wrote it.”
Kelsea Ballerini was then joined by Lindsay Ell, Maddie & Tae, Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce and Runaway June and Little Big Town to sing their song “Girl Crush” together, further celebrating the women of country music.
