Katy Perry kicked off her highly-anticipated Las Vegas residency, Katy Perry: PLAY, with a sold-out show at the brand-new Resorts Theatre on the Vegas strip on Wednesday evening (Dec. 29).

The global superstar is now the second artist to grace the stage of the 5,000-seat world-class theatre, which is the largest and tallest in Las Vegas, following Carrie Underwood.

“As with everything I do, PLAY is massively colorful for the kids, with a deep wink for the adults,” Perry said in a press release. “The show is a funny, playful trip, and was designed specifically for this theatre in Vegas. Honestly, I couldn’t ever travel this show from arena to arena. These sets are larger than life – literally – and the perfect excuse to wake up in Vegas.”

The show, which marks Perry’s first-ever Las Vegas Residency, featured top-notch production that brought the superstar’s chart-topping hits to life. Her extraordinary production included larger than life props, special effects, state-of-the-art technology, pyrotechnics, massive video walls, and so much more, making for a visually stunning concert event that fans won’t soon forget.

“A lot of my shows have been figuratively larger than life, but I play a doll in this show, so everything is, like, three times the size of me,” the singer shared in an interview with Good Morning America ahead of the show.

An oversize toilet complete with a singing turd and toilet paper, a 2-story bathtub and bed, giant snail, plungers and mushrooms, dancing toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste, and trash were just a few of the massive props included within her impressive set.

Not only did the show include a stellar production, but it also featured a slew of hit songs that Perry’s fans love and adore. Her 19-song set list included songs such as “ET,” “Dark Horse,” “California Gurls,” “Hot N’ Cold/Last Friday Night,” “Waking Up In Vegas,” “I Kissed A Girl,” “Teenage Dream,” “Roar,” “Swish Swish” and more. Her set concluded with a performance of “Greatest Love Of All” and fan-favorite smash hit, “Firework.”

Perry’s set list was divided into 5 different ‘acts,’ including Act 1: Henry the Horror, Act 2: Flushed, Act 3: Eat Me, Act 4: Trashun and Act 5: Perry Playland.
