Kaleigh is not just a 22-year-old Los Angeles-based artist, she is a triple threat! This actor, model, and musician just announced the release of debut full-length rock/alternative album Predestined, which will be out on March 5th on all platforms.
Style-wise as well as lyrically, her new album takes a brave leap from her prior pop leanings, showing a level of vulnerability that her fans have never seen or heard from her before. For Kaleigh, being an artist has come with its fair share of challenges.
“Certain days are kinder than others and sometimes, the harder days impose some unwanted doubts that cloud your soul, but it’s on days like today that I am reminded of why I do what I love and why I create art,” says Kaleigh.
What we love about Kaleigh is that she likes to create art because of the wat that it connects her to others on the deepest level possible. Even if just one person listens to her music and says that it made them feel something, that’s all it takes for her harder days to melt away.
“The main inspiration for this album, Predestined, is the notion of coming of age,” says Kaleigh. “I just graduated from UCLA in March of 2020 and turned 22 years old in December, so I feel like my perspective on the world has changed. I’m no longer a little girl dreaming about writing music. I’m a woman writing music about what I see in this world and how I feel. I hope that strikes a chord with people and touches some hearts. I really believe there is a song on this album for everyone.”
Like many creatives these days, Kaleigh stayed productive during the pandemic by writing music to help her get through everything. Music was her ideal forum to express the tidal wave of emotion brought on by rapid change in the world.
And fun fact? She even recorded the album in her own studio!
Listening to Predestined, you can expect to hear stories of first loves, growing up, rebellion, lust, addiction, heartbreak, career goals, chasing dreams, and due to everything going on in the US, political and social criticisms.
