Justin Timberlake brought the first leg of his sold out and highly anticipated Man Of The Woods Tour to Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, in support of his latest solo album, Man Of The Woods. Timberlake took to the stage to a burst of lighting behind him causing for a massive silhouette of him to his single “Filthy,” as the beyond capacity crowd was illuminated by his gigantic custom Man Of The Woods logo. This tour brings a very unique stage setup which flooded the entire length of the floor completed with grass surrounding the floor of the stage and a forrest of trees scattered throughout the length of the stage.
Timberlake brought what I would call, one of the best stage productions that I have ever seen to incorporate the fans into his set as there is so much space for fans to move around and interact with Timberlake and The Tennessee Kids throughout the 2-hour evening of great music and talented showmanship. His setlist included songs from his entire discography but fans definitely loved his new songs off his album, Man Of The Woods and also singles like “SexyBack,” “Rock Your Body,” “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” and “Suit & Tie.”
Highlights of Timberlake’s show would definitley include when they lit a real campfire during his set to introduce The Tennessee Kids to Philadelphia’s sold out crowd, with individual introductions singing cover songs such as “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, “Ex-Factor” by Lauryn Hill, “Come Together” by The Beatles, and “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver as the band and Timberlake sat around a campfire giving a great intimate unique feel to the set. Other notable moments during his set would be his performance of “Mirrors” in which the crowd finished out the song for a bone-chilling moment, and when Timberlake performed “Rock Your Body” on the light up dance floor in the crowd known as the ‘Party Pit’ for VIP fans.
