Pierre Alexander and Chris Ruediger of The 615 House shared a reimagined version of Davis and Bryan’s multi-week No. 1 from the “perspective of a broke Nashville musician.”
“Pay rent, find a one bed on the edge of town / put a first month deposit down / go broke first of every month / never get the chance to save up,” Alexander sings, while strumming an acoustic guitar.
As the clip continued, Ruediger appeared to sing the next verse of the song.
“”Locked into a 16-month lease / still don’t know how to use the amenities / when mom calls and asks how I’ve been / can’t help it I start crying,” Ruediger sings before the pair joined together to sing the chorus.
“Cause the truth about it is / we ain’t ‘Luke Bryan Rich’ / can’t live with our parents / so we pay rent,” the two Nashville newcomers sing in harmony.
It wasn’t long after the video was posted, when a friend of Jordan Davis sent him the video on TikTok. Upon seeing the video, Davis knew he wanted to respond, so he shared a duet with the pair on TikTok, which he captioned, “been there fellas… Well done! 💪💪💪”
“Buddy of mine sent me this, this is hilarious, pay rent…” Davis said, before singing along to the parody.
“Y’all crushed this 👊,” Davis said in the comments of the clip, which has already amassed nearly 1 million views, praising the two singers.

“Buy Dirt” recently topped the charts at country radio for two weeks, marking Davis’ first multi-week chart-topper.
Co-written by Davis alongside his brother, Jacob Davis, and frequent collaborators Josh Jenkins and Matt Jenkins, “Buy Dirt” became Davis’ fastest-rising single to date and is currently nominated for Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Event of the Year at the upcoming ACM Awards.
Davis and Bryan are set to perform the song during the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards, airing exclusively on Prime Video on Monday, March 7 at 8/7c.
