Hunter Hayes Unveils ‘Closer To You’ 2019 Tour Dates

With the 2019 GRAMMY Awards only days away, five-time nominee Hunter Hayes partnered with the prestigious organization to announce his headlining ‘Closer To You’ tour exclusively on The 20-date run kicks off on April 18 in Atlanta, GA and crisscrosses North America, making stops in major markets including Chicago, Los Angeles and more (full list of dates below). Members of Hayes’ mailing list will have early access to tickets beginning February 12 before they go on sale February 15.

The multi-genre superstar also recently shared his brand-new single, “Heartbreak,” available everywhere now. “Built on an energetic acoustic-guitar riff and driven by a propulsive country-pop rhythm” (Rolling Stone), the unexpectedly optimistic track throws “a love-song’s curveball at the traditional breakup narrative” (Paste). Even Hayes’ tour highlights the plot-twist within “Heartbreak”; Closer To You comes straight from the song’s chorus: “If it gets me to you then it ain’t wasted time / With every so close I’m closer to the rest of my life / Another bad first date, another nothing left to say / What I mean is, the way I see it, I’m one heartbreak closer to you.”

In 2018, Hayes released his unflinchingly honest and introspective song “Dear God,” that to date has accumulated over 22 million streams globally. With Rolling Stone calling it an “anthem for the anxious,” Taste of Country also declared: “leave it to Hunter Hayes to release a song that speaks the truth.” He also shared the unfiltered track “One Shot” that Billboard praised for being an “instant party anthem” that’s “highly relatable…with the uplifting, hopeful tone that’s a signature of his music.”
