You can see a lot things when a video is in slow motion, right? It’s common sense. You have more time to see all of the details that you would not normally see! For Hollis Brown’s track, “Go For It,” they truly went for it. The band was daring enough to make their video all in slow motion, but that perfectly describes the risk takers that they are. Not only does it show their skills, but their confidence.
They should be confident too, because one of their songs was played on American Idol! (See below)
“Go For It,” is a funk-rock song that is about exactly what you’re probably thinking it’s about, GOING FOR SOMETHING. With lyrics like, “The sun came up on the world today / We just want the moon, once I get what I want,” and “I got to get up on my grind / Baby I’m climbing high,” the message of this song is BE CONFIDENT. Cliché maybe, but it needs to be said more.
There are so many people who need to hear this, because they don’t feel good enough, when they are. What better way to know than with a catchy song to jam to?
“Go For It” is on their album, Ozone Park, which was released in June of 2019. It was the record that earned the band praise and press from publications like Rolling Stone, Billboard, Paste, and more. With a great sound and positive message, we look forward to seeing what else Hollis Brown brings to us in 2020.
