Garth Brooks has come forward and admitted that he was lip-syncing during his CMA Awards performance of “Ask Me How I Know” on Wednesday night (Nov. 8th). While speaking at the after show press conference Brooks holding his Entertainer of the year trophy was speaking to journalists in attendance and told them that he’d “been sick all week” so “we decided to lip-sync it because my voice was just not there and we wanted to represent country music the best we can” he told the Tennessean. “We made a game time call on whether to sing to a track or lip-sync. And we decided to lip-sync it,” he adds.

This comes after many of fans were tweeting critiquing his performances on the CMA Awards. Many of fans were concerned as they noticed his performance was off and they were not very happy with it.

The Top 10 hit “Ask Me How I Know” performed at tonight’s 51st CMA Awards is his second single from his 2016’s Gunslinger album.
