From Ashes To New’s guitarist Lance Dowdle released a stunning cover of Post Malone featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott’s “Take What You Want” on Saturday (July 25).
“I feel you crumble in my arms down to your heart of stone / You bled me dry just like the tears you never show / Why don’t you take what you want from me? / Take what you need from me / Take what you want and go / Why don’t you take what you want from me? / Take what you need from me / Take what you want and go,” sings Dowdle during the impressive cover.
“Our very own Lance Dowdle got bored and decided to remake one of his favorite Posty songs,” captioned the well-produced YouTube video.
“Take What You Want” appears on Malone’s latest album, Hollywood’s Bleeding and Osbourne’s twelfth studio album, Ordinary Man. The song was written by Post Malone alongside John Osbourne, Jacques Webster, Louis Bell, Andrew Watt, and Billy Walsh and produced by Watt and Bell.
From Ashes To New as a full band has released several impeccable covers over the last few months including Bullet For My Valentine’s “Tears Don’t Fall,” Linkin Park’s “Faint,” Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life,” and Papa Roach’s “Gravity” during their ‘Quarantine Covers’ series and a parody of Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends.”
The band released their new single “Panic” in late April, donating all proceeds from the song to Crew Nation, an organization by Live Nation to help fund those in the music industry who are currently unemployed. The band will be unleashing their album of the same name, Panic, on August 28, which you can PREORDER now here.
